“As a young millennial, I have experienced more ‘once-in-a lifetime crises’ in just three decades of living than I care to count.
From 9/11 to the Great Recession to COVID-19 and every crisis in between, I’ve grown up watching the adults in the room get increasingly angry at one another. The voices on either side of the political aisle have only gotten louder, and those in the middle have been forced to pick a side or stay silent.
Civil discourse, it seems, is dead. The middle ground is a lonely place to be.
The political polarization that has consumed our country has not only divided us socially, it has exacerbated the challenges we are facing, with seemingly no hope for solving them. We can't even seem to agree on what problems we have (or that they even exist), let alone any solutions to them.
I am a Disgruntled Millennial that is tired of political extremes and cultural wars, tired of arguing and shouting, and I just want answers. Fortunately, I have had the honor and privilege of working with and getting to know incredible people that are doing impactful work across the country. I know that hidden behind the breaking news headlines are bright spots: people and organizations that are slowly but surely chipping away at the wicked problems that ail us.
This podcast is about having better conversations. This podcast is about highlighting real, impactful solutions to our most complex problems, and celebrating the people doing the hard work on the ground to make it happen. Most importantly, this podcast is not just for my fellow Disgruntled Millennials…. It is for all people who want to see the world become a better place, and are tired of seeing politics and culture wars get in the way of that.”
